Teledyne SCION VIS-SWIR and Extended SWIR Cameras

SCION is a thermoelectrically cooled scientific camera platform using Teledyne hybrid CMOS VisGaAs and HgCdTe sensors for imaging from the visible through the extended SWIR. The family combines broadband quantum efficiency, high full-frame rates, deep cooling, and advanced non-destructive readout modes for low-noise imaging of both transient and steady-state signals.

  • VisGaAs models cover 400 to 1700 nm, with an HgCdTe configuration covering 900 to 2500 nm
  • Up to 85% broadband quantum efficiency and cooling down to -65 °C
  • Up to 700 fps at 640 × 512 or 175 fps at 1280 × 1024
  • Multiple-kilohertz operation available with region-of-interest windowing
  • Integrate-then-read, integrate-while-read, and sample-up-the-ramp modes
  • Sample-up-the-ramp processing can reduce effective read noise below 1 e⁻
  • Compact enclosed and board-level formats, with PICAM SDK and LightField software support
