Phantom C540
Phantom C540 High-Speed Camera
The Phantom C540 is a compact, standalone high-speed camera that combines a 4.3 MP, 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor with low-noise correlated double sampling (CDS). It captures 2560 × 1680 images at up to 1,140 fps, with reduced-resolution frame rates above 50,000 fps and exposure times as low as 2 µs. Integrated I/O, storage, Ethernet, and synchronization make it a self-contained platform for scientific and industrial motion analysis.
Key Technical Features:
- 2560 × 1680 resolution at up to 1,140 fps
- 3 MP, 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor with 5 µm pixels and CDS architecture
- Read noise below 4.4 e⁻ (EMVA 1288)
- Minimum exposure of 2 µs for high-speed motion capture
- Frame rates above 50,000 fps at reduced resolution
- 14 GB onboard RAM with up to 63 multi-cine partitions
- Integrated programmable I/O, 3G-SDI, IRIG-B timecode, Ethernet, and USB-A
- Compact 9.6 × 9.6 × 6.8 cm body weighing approximately 0.6 kg
The 1-inch sensor format makes the C540 particularly relevant in applications where high spatial resolution must be balanced against optical footprint and lens availability. The low-noise BSI architecture supports measurement under limited illumination, while the global-shutter, short-exposure design suits PIV, DIC, materials testing, biomechanics, microscopy, industrial motion analysis, and other transient-event measurements.
